100 Club

HAVENSTREET COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION “100 CLUB” RULES

1 The object of the Havenstreet 100 Club is to raise funds for the Havenstreet Community Association to equip and maintain the Havenstreet Community Centre for the benefit of the residents and those other regular users of the facilities who share a common interest.

2 The Havenstreet 100 Club will be operated under the rules of a “private society lottery” by and on behalf of the Havenstreet Community Association, through its Committee (HCAC).

3 Persons who are eligible to join the Havenstreet 100 Club are:

(i) all people living in the village of Havenstreet and neighbourhood (area of benefit) over the age of 16 yrs

(ii) all persons who regularly attend scheduled events at the Community Centre and who have a common interest in supporting and maintaining the Centre

4 Membership shall not exceed 200 in its first year and will be reviewed annually thereafter.

5 Prize money will be awarded to 11 x monthly (except December) winners (see 15 below) as follows:

First prize £35

Second prize £15

Third Prize £10

and one special draw in December when the prize money will be:

First prize £50

Second prize £25

Third prize £15

Fourth prize £10

6 Membership shall be by completion of the Membership Form, providing full name, address and contact details and a signature accepting the Havenstreet 100 Club’s rules and conditions. A person shall not be allowed to have more than 4 numbers. 

7 Membership shall be confirmed by the HCAC who on receipt of the annual premium of £12/number shall issue unique number(s) which members will retain for the duration of their membership. 

8 Membership shall be renewed annually in November (reminders will be sent out). Any person who has failed to renew, by payment of the annual fee, by 30th. November, will automatically have their membership terminated.

9 Numbers are not transferable, under any circumstances.

10 A register of membership shall be prepared and maintained by the HCAC.

11 The Havenstreet 100 Club shall run for a 12 months period, starting on the 1st. December each calendar year, following which no new members shall be allowed to enter until the following year.

12 If a person leaves the village or fails to satisfy the membership criteria at Rule 2 during the 12 months period of their membership they shall remain members until the expiration of that annual period. They will not be allowed to renew membership the following year.

13 If a member dies during an annual membership period their number(s) shall

be withdrawn from all subsequent and future draws.

14 If for any reason a winner cannot be contacted within 6 months their winnings shall be transferred into the HCA account.

15 The monthly draw shall take place publicly on the second Tuesday of each month at the Community Centre, or at an alternative venue or occasion as determined by the HCA.

16 Winners will be sent a cheque to their registered address, as identified at Rule 6, within 1 week of the monthly draw.

17 Numbers and Winners of the monthly draw shall be posted on the Community Centre notice boards, internal and external, the HCA web page and on the Havenstreet Times Facebook page.

18 The HCAC, responsible for administering the Havenstreet 100 Club, will nominate two of its members to act as referees/arbiters in any dispute, including any appeal, and who shall be independent, as far as is reasonably possible, from the dispute or reason for appeal.

19 The decision of the HCAC shall be final in all matters requiring adjudication.

20 The HCAC shall have the right to amend or revoke these rules at their absolute discretion with such reasonable notice to the Havenstreet 100 Club members as is necessary.
